So why call ourselves Christian pirate radio?
(and leave a big box corporate internet talk show provider like Blogtalkradio when they offer a free internet radio show?)
Here's why!
I'm tired of Blogcrapradio, I know I can build a better mousetrap! Area 33 has now divorced itself from Blogtalkradio. They have screwed me over and ticked me off for the last time. All bets are off and so are the gloves!
I am attempting to build my own internet radio show from scratch that operates directly from my website. This is why this page is under construction. So Area 33 live can be easily accessed from this website. Area 33 is finished with the poor audio quality, constant technical glitches, complete system failures and the terrible customer/technical service (or rather lack thereof) of Blogtalkradio! If any of you are thinking of using Blogtalkradio I would strongly recommend against it! Their free account is not worth the trouble, time or headaches, and from talking to many 'Premium members' they feel that they are not getting there monies worth. So why do these people continue with Blogtalkradio? It's because of the implied potential of 'large numbers of listeners' which is another I feel deceitful aspect of Blogtalkradio. Just because it's on the Internet does not mean the Internet will be beating a path to your door! If you are not a 'Premium member' with Blogtalk you go to the bottom of the list in priority, never mind that you may need actual technical help right now!
So what is it that they offer for their 'premium' package?
All you get for the premium package which costs $39.00 a month is...If you really break it down. Is the privilege of using your Skype and webcam for your show, and the ability to edit your archived shows, a slightly better switchboard, a larger call in cache and with various odds n ends like that mixed in with other features that I wouldn't have used anyway. It's not that I'm a tight wad or anything like that, but to charge that much money on a monthly basis just to use something that I already had is ludicrous! That's $399.00 (by their math) a year invested in a system that continually breaks down and outright fails frequently to begin with, plus they censure you! So why would I want to pay for that, when I was getting these headaches for free to begin with? These are my main complaints. The concept behind their format may have been a great idea, but you would think that they would have supported it better. When I get my archive show page finished it will have been done with an excellent free program known as audacity! So again why would I want to spend that kind of money when it should have been offered for free to begin with? I know that there will be the ever present cowardly internet detractors that will probably slam me for posting this page...
Oh well get over it, and yourselves.
You haven't gone through the hell that I have gone through for over a year with these charlatans!
Plus...If that wasn't bad enough!
The time and energy that it entails to just schedule your own guests is large and couple that with a continually failing system such as Blogtalkradio, well one can easily see why many people just up and walk away from their hopes of having their own show. So why am I leaving Blogtalkradio? Well besides all of the above mentioned items, for some unknown reason all of a sudden my password no longer works. The only help I get from Blogtalkradio is the Log in page they keep sending me in replies to my enquiries which serves no helpful purpose. I have now officially received Emails from their 'tech department' stating that as far as they are concerned the matter has been resolved! Never mind that I still can not get into my account to re set the password. So I am effectively locked out of my own show. Plus too add insult to injury Mlady found my private Blogtalk URL link on the web and used it to get into my account and we still couldn't re-set the password anyway! It's this type of run around and lack of support is why I know that I can build a better mouse trap and provide you my listeners a better experience and higher quality show in the process because...I don't give up so easily. Its just not in my nature to do so!
Call me stubborn, I could give a rats backside less really! I refuse to play ball with any corporation, especially when they themselves do not play fair to begin with...So a pox upon them!
May their routers rust, and all their servers become barnacle encrusted!
I am currently working on setting up this entire radio show by myself of which I do not mind (per se') although I really have no choice in the matter since this whole radio thing has bitten me hard, and due to Blogcrapradio's constantly screwing up what choice do I have? I do promise however to give you my best in not only construction of this site but in the quality of my shows. As always in life if you want something done right then you must do it yourself, so be it then!
As soon as I get all the programming and the various other technical aspects in place Area 33 will then be up and running. One of the 'features' that I never liked about Blogtalkradio was that if someone wanted to call in to the show they had to pay for the call...not cool! Even I had to make a long distance call to tie in to my show's 'switchboard' and I was running multiple 2 hour shows so you do the math! This is how Blogtalkradio made their money off of the free accounts, they got a cut from the call ins to the show. But this also had a detrimental effect on the show because people did not want to pay for the charge just to call in to an amateur radio show and I don't blame them . This I felt was a serious hindrance to building a listener base. People like to listen to other peoples call in questions this helps to build a growing audience plain and simple. Look what call ins have done for Coast 2 Coast AM! But...people also don't want a charge on their phone bill either this I can fully sympathize with!
This is why I will be putting my best foot forward to make all guest and listener call ins
that's everyone's call, free of charge.
I have always felt that if it's on the internet than it should be free! Unless it's a specified retail business of course. So currently I am weighing all options, beyond my always wanting to produce and publish a really good and fun show, is that I want the experience to be equally easy and fun for my listeners this is also a top priority. So I am building this talk show with you in mind! How long is this going to take? At this time I honestly can not say, although I am diligently working on it!
So what features am I trying to include for you then? Well...this is what I am hoping to do.
The wish list.
Free call ins is the top priority and something that I truly do wish to try and make happen so we shall see, probably a free Skype and Google talk type of set-up (maybe) but for starters I will be streaming to you live and and as soon as some of the other tech stuff is fully ironed out I will start to have guests on the show! Definitely a live real time monitored chat room. Of course as always a live radio stream, with maybe live video streams as well, I'm going to have to see about bandwidth issues for that one plus an eclectic mix of wonderful RIAA free music to be sure, and of course archived shows.
I also think that having an occasional guest co-host would be alot of fun. I have always tried to maintain with Area 33 a vast and diversified selection of guests both biblical and secular. So what topics will we be discussing then on this new format beyond the obvious ghosts aliens and ufo's? Everything from the paranormal including the occult which in itself is a very broad subject. Too Cryptozoology which actually is probably my favorite subject, and of course let us not forget the many varied aspects of Conspiracy. If you would like to be notified of our starting air date or would like to be featured on the show then by all means please do feel free to shoot me an Email be sure to add Mailing list or guest speaker in the subject line. I am going to make this work one way or the other, preferably the other! Well that's it for now gang, wish me luck. If there are any of you who are more tech savvy than I, then by all means please do Email me, because this is going to be a very daunting endeavor. But I do feel up too the challenge, Area 33 is actually on the verge of having a staff that is ready to help make this effort a success.
But why call ourselves christian pirate radio?
Well for several reasons really. First as mentioned above I've had it with the big box corporate attitude of were it buddy take it or leave it, wrapped up with their smug implications of we know you can't do what we offer! Oh yeah...Just you watch me then! If other brothers and sisters can independently and successfully podcast then so can I. The only thing Blogtalk has over me is massive amounts of money, which equals massive tech support and bandwidth, but even this can be overcome with a careful plan, persistence and prayer! Blogtalk has obviously forgotten about David and Goliath! So why bring that up? I am not so naive to think that I'm going to bring down Blogtalkradio...not at all, not my goal! I only bring up the David and Goliath analogy to show that this privateer, can and will with our Lords help produce a quality Internet talk show that is at least as good as Blogtalkradio thinks they produce themselves...Only better!
As Mlady has so eloquently pointed out too me. She says that she see's this internet radio effort also along the lines of bordering on being an underground deception resistance type of station as well. I fully agree. Did we not see the French resistance in WWII utilize 'pirate radio' to combat the National Socialists? More commonly known today as the Nazi's, and their totalitarian regime. Do we not see a global 'socialist' bid to usher mankind into a New World Order today even as we speak?
Second...Is that for several generations now in not just America but the world as a whole anyone who has refused to go along with the emerging government backed corporate radio biggies of the day were considered to be 'Pirates' illegally broadcasting, as in not having a government issued license and pumping out too much power most oft times a combination of the two. So here we are in 2011 and not much has really changed, sure the definition of what pirate radio is has changed a bit over the years and now one can legally broadcast on the internet as I will be doing. But the big box corporations still consider people like myself to be nothing more than scurvy radio pirates legal or not. Fine by me...Thank you for the complement!
So couple all of this together with the Dept of Fatherland...err I mean the Dept of Homeland Security's definition of what a modern terrorist is today (domestic or otherwise) and you end up with regular people like myself, any and all christians, tea party folks, all returning war veterans, and anyone else who speaks up about corruption in high office positions, and what our constitutional rights and obligations are as American citizens. So for myself and many others like me, being a child of God only serves to compound this situation all the more especially when we have Gods message to bring to the masses. My Sovereign Lord and Savior Jesus Christ himself even warned us long ago that..."They will hate you for my names sake".
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you:
and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Matthew 24:9 1611 KJV
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company],
and shall reproach [you] and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
Luke 6:22 Amplified KJV
So if you add all of this together, this is why Area 33 Live will be considered 'Christian Pirate Radio' by the shadow masters and their corporate lackeys that dictate to you the world you see around you. I have a very tall mountain to climb just to bring this project to fruition, I was getting bumped off the air while on Blogtalkradio for not only their lack of technical consistency, but for speaking out and speaking up about very real, very sensitive and controversial subjects as they pertained to the New World Order and its key players. So I see no reason why it should be any different with this new independent radio format, because even with Blogtalk's censorship out of the way there is still the NSA and all of the other government (Alphabet soup) agencies that continue to illegally monitor its citizens ever on the lookout for the next alleged Osama Bill Smith. So be it then and I welcome it. Besides you know your doing something right when they start too knock you off the air, so again thank you for the complement! Why do I take this as a complement then? Well they are not just enemies of God's children.
But enemies of God himself, and besides...
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Philippians 4:13 1611 KJV
So once again I say a pox upon the corporate monopolies and their shadow masters!
Help support all pirate radio stations, because they are the last real vestige of truth
and freedom of speech in America!
